Publication Ethics

The Journal of Management Business Literacy (JMBL) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This journal follows the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to:

  • Submit original and unpublished work that is not under consideration by another journal.
  • Present research accurately, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
  • Properly acknowledge the work of others through appropriate citations and references.
  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and approve the final version of the manuscript.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research.
  • Promptly notify the editor if a significant error is discovered after publication and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts.
  • Conducting a fair, objective, and confidential editorial process without discrimination.
  • Ensuring that submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and reviewer identities.
  • Managing conflicts of interest appropriately and taking corrective action when ethical concerns arise.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts received for review.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical misconduct.
  • Decline the review if a conflict of interest exists or if they are unable to provide an impartial assessment.

Research Integrity

JMBL does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism in any form.
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication.
  • Simultaneous submission to multiple journals.
  • Citation manipulation.
  • Authorship misconduct, including guest, gift, or ghost authorship.
  • Any unethical research or publication practices.

Appropriate editorial actions, including manuscript rejection, publication correction, or article retraction, will be taken when ethical violations are confirmed.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence the publication process. All conflicts will be managed transparently to ensure the integrity of editorial decisions.

Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable institutional and national ethical standards. Authors should indicate that appropriate ethical approval has been obtained where required.

Corrections and Retractions

When errors or ethical issues are identified after publication, JMBL will publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate, following the recommendations of COPE to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
